Results
I judge my work by the numbers your firm already tracks: calls, consultations and signed cases. This page explains how I measure them and what a realistic timeline looks like.
Six numbers, from search to signed case
Rankings and visits are early signs. The last three numbers are the ones that matter to a firm.
Map pack position
Where your firm appears in the map results, checked from points across your city rather than from one spot.
Organic rankings
Positions for the searches clients use for each case type you target.
Visits from search
People reaching your site from Google and from AI search tools.
Calls and forms
Calls and enquiries that started with a search, recorded and sorted so sales calls and existing clients are left out.
Consultations
Enquiries that became a booked consultation, matched against your intake log.
Signed cases
Consultations that became clients, as marked by your firm each month.
How a signed case is traced back to search
Your main number stays on your Google profile and directories. Tracking happens behind it.
- Tracked numbers on your site. Visitors who arrive from search see a tracking number that forwards to your main line, so each call is tied to the search that started it.
- Recorded and sorted calls. Calls are recorded where your state allows it, and sorted into new enquiries, existing clients and everything else.
- Form source. Every enquiry form records the page and the search source it came from.
- Matched to intake. Each month your firm marks which enquiries became consultations and which became signed cases.
- One report. The totals, and the pages and searches that brought them in, appear in the monthly report.
What a realistic first year looks like
Every market is different. The audit gives you an estimate for yours.
Months 1–3
Technical fixes and Google profile work take effect. Map pack positions often start to move. New pages are published and indexed.
Months 4–6
Practice-area pages begin ranking for less competitive searches. Calls from search become measurable month to month.
Months 7–12
Pages and links build on each other. The most competitive searches, such as personal injury in a large city, usually take this long or longer.
I publish a firm's results only with that firm's written permission, and only in a form that meets its state bar's advertising rules.

The audit is a written report on your map pack position, your site, and the firms taking clients from you online.
